Dungeons of Dredmor

This Rouge-like game, is a simple dungeon crawler, you’re on a quest to kill the token bad guy (Dredmor) to do so you have to make your way down through his dungeons, killing things, stealing their stuff, and levelling up.

What makes it stand apart is a wicked sense of humour and an awesome art style.

As you would expect from a Rouge-like, you die. A lot, permadeath is an option, and its one I normally play with, this means that every time you die, you create a new character, but this is great fun in itself, because every time you create a new character, you get to pick a new set of skill trees, and amuse yourself with the new character combinations you can make. (How does a Axe wielding Vampire Pirate Viking Emomancer sound?)

Terraria

A lot of people dismiss this offhand as a Minecraft clone, but apart from the fact that you dig with pickaxes and build stuff, it differs greatly from Minecraft.

This is a 2D sprite based game that has you explore, kill monsters, build a house and forge your own weapons and armour.

It has a very robust crafting system, a world generator that allows for massive underground dungeons to explore, and it has that one thing Minecraft tends to leave you wanting, gameplay!

Check it out, it’s pretty awesome.

Sopio

Sopio is a card game, it’s very simple to play, (in fact all the rules are on one card) but what its creators have managed to do, is something a lot of the big game companies manage to miss, they have created a game that is genuinely fun to play.

It’s simple nature does not detract from it in the slightest, but gives you a game that’s easy to pick up, easy to play and is over in about 15 minutes, and I promise, you will enjoy every second of the 15 minutes.

Do yourself a favour, go to  http://sopiocards.com , buy yourself deck 1, play it, enjoy it and then order decks 2 and 3.
